Why book this course?

Whether you’re leading a negotiation or attempting to persuade a client or colleague, you need to connect to the person you’re talking to. Being persuasive and composed is important, but without making a strong personal impact - and being able to build rapport - your message is unlikely to get through.

Our Influencing, Persuasion and Negotiation Skills course teaches valuable communication skills in an active and practical manner. Delegates will learn how to form strong personal connections with others, how to listen and absorb information more effectively, and how  to tailor your message to the person you want to persuade.

Who is the course for?

This course is ideal for anyone who would like to be more influential and more persuasive in their day-to-day interactions with colleagues or clients.

While it is most useful for those employees regularly involved in negotiations, it teaches valuable communication skills that will boost any CV.

What content will the course cover?

  • Personal impact

  • Understand how communication works and learn to use it well

  • Understand how people make their decisions and learn how each is influenced

  • Psychology and how to make your case for change more compelling

  • Six reasons people say “Yes”

  • Recognise resistance and respond to it positively and effectively

  • Develop a systematic approach to planning and preparation of a negotiation

  • Understand how to pitch an opening position

  • How to move through the negotiation process – avoiding blockages

  • Gaining agreement and closing the negotiation down.

What will I get out of the training?

Starting with the fundamentals of human communication, we’ll look at the psychology of effective persuasion and handling resistance. You will learn to plan, deliver and follow through on critical discussions and negotiations. You’ll also learn techniques to break stalemates and defuse conflict, resulting in the best possible agreement – one that lasts.

At Kent Trainers, we’re proud to accommodate the needs of local businesses in our training. Our Influencing, Persuasion and Negotiation Skills course provides ample opportunity for delegates to ask questions of their trainers and peers, and receive tailored advice.
