Why book this course?

It can often feel like we aren’t in control of our time. The days where you have little to do pass slowly, while the days where you’re under pressure to deliver fly by. When the end of the month arrives, it’s easy to look back on the weeks and wonder where your time went - and how sustainable this is going forwards.

Our Managing Yourself and Your Time course is about understanding how the demands of a busy job and life can be improved with time management skills. We’ll help you to identify where you’re going wrong, how to organise and plan your time more effectively, and how to be proactive rather than reactive - achieving a better work/life balance.

Who is the course for?

This course is ideal for anyone who feels that they are constantly under pressure, and needs to manage their time more effectively.

The skills taught on this course can help any employee to get the most out of their time, improving their efficiency and performance, and reducing the stress of deadlines.

What content will the course cover?

  • What is your attitude to time?

  • Identify where time is wasted and take action to avoid this

  • Organise and plan your day with the use of electronic devices

  • Prioritise your work effectively – excellent time management skills

  • Avoiding constant ‘fire fighting’ and become more proactive

  • Deal with interruptions effectively

  • Understanding the importance of saying, “No!”

  • Using Delegation as an effective tool

  • Using the right type of communication

  • Understand what stress is and how to avoid (or cope) with it

What will I get out of the training?

By organising your workload effectively rather than constantly having to react to events, you can become more effective and gain control and enjoyment on a daily basis.

You will be equipped with the tools to deliver your best results, whilst learning to cope emotionally and professionally in a high-pressure environment.

What is my experience

I have been fortunate enough to have worked across the globe, with over 20 years in senior management and training roles. Throughout this time, I have gained a wealth of experience working across a diverse range of teams, cultures, and industries.

My roles in learning and development have been across both the private and public sector. These included working as a European Training Manager, based in Italy, as well as Senior Lecturer, delivering customer service training to NVQ's levels 2 & 3. Whilst working as Head of Training at a Kent based consultancy, I also headed up the delivery of ILM programmes and became the Internal Verifier for all courses up to level 7.

In 2006 I launched my own Training and Business Consultancy, allowing me to incorporate my knowledge of Business Management with Training. My focus since then has been on developing and delivering bespoke Personal Development and Management training courses for not only SME’s but right through to large corporations and public sector.

What is my area of expertise

I oversee the Kent Trainers training programmes, including the Leadership and Management programmes, which are accredited by The Institute of Leadership and Management. I maintain a keen interest in keeping our focus on delivering high quality, consistently relevant courses.
