Our Introduction to Project Management course is ideal for project managers, or other managers who would benefit from a better understanding of project management techniques and skills.

Delegates will learn a broad set of project management tools and techniques, helping them to better manage resources and risks, and to set and deliver on goals. 

What content will the course cover?

  • What is project management? 

  • Introduction to project success 

  • The project management framework 

  • The project brief: identifying project goals and objectives: Goals, objectives, specifications; Time-cost-quality and scope; Sign-off/approval 

  • What is your role in projects – identifying the various roles you can play in projects? Project Manager, Sponsor & Board, Team, Stakeholders; Senior User

  • A range of project management tools to help you to manage your projects, which include: Stakeholder analysis and communication; milestone planning; work, product, cost and resource breakdown structures; network charts 

  • Gantt chart basics and schedule contingency; risk management 

  • Project delivery: monitor and review cycle; project reporting; controlling change 

  • Evaluation of process after the project is completed

What will I get out of the training?

You will explore the role and responsibilities of the project manager, and gain a greater understanding of your importance to a well-managed and friction-free project. 

By the end of the course, you'll have a solid grasp on the concepts of frameworks, briefs, objectives and goals, and the skills and confidence to manage people and resources in a hectic, high-pressure environment.

This is a 1 day course.

The timings and format for our courses are as follows:

Unless specified, courses commence at 9:30am and finish at approximately 4:00pm.  The day is broken up into modules, both online and offline to ensure engagement and interaction.  We also ensure that there are plenty of comfort breaks throughout the day.

  • Scheduled training courses held at one of our venues

Courses commences at 9:30am and finish at approximately 4:30pm. On all our scheduled courses, a hot lunch is included, and refreshments are provided throughout the day.

  • In-house & bespoke courses, held virtually or at a venue of your choice
